What is God’s Will For My Life

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (NKJV)
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality
Christians for centuries have tied themselves up in knots with this question. What is the will of God in my life? What if I’m outside of God’s will, how can I understand the will of God? The will of God is very simple: He desires you to be more like His Son Jesus Christ. He wants you to be abiding in Jesus Christ and striving for holiness every day. When you do that it’s hard to fall out of the will of God through any other decision you make in life.
A wiser man than me once said:
‘Our holiness is the great design of Christ’s death, and is the revealed will of God.’
Christ died so that we might be separate from sin and thus able to enter into a relationship with the living God. People grapple with purpose and meaning when they feel incomplete. But interestingly the word ‘holy’ comes from the same root as ‘wholly’, so in other words we aren’t complete until we are totally surrendered to walking the path of holiness. So perhaps the reason you have felt so undirected and unfulfilled in life is because sexual sin has been holding you back from your chief goal – glorifying Christ with a life of worship, repentance and wholeness.
